Christine "Chris" Cecilia Sanfilippo, gently crossed over to join the angels above on Nov. 24, 2018 at John Muir Hospital in Concord. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Chris was born on Nov. 10, 1931 in Canada to Gladys and Peter Crechiolo, and big sister to Phil Crechiolo.
Chris married Salvatore "Sam" Sanfilippo of Martinez on June 13, 1948. They celebrated their 70th anniversary this year.
Chris was preceded in death by her father Peter, brother Phil and mother Gladys.
Chris is survived by Sam Sanfilippo, husband for 70 years; Sons James "Jimmy" of Florida and his wife Trudi, Peter "Pete" and his wife Jennie of Martinez, and Frank and his wife Heidi of Vacaville. Grandchildren Steven Sanfilippo, Matthew Sanfilippo, Erica McDowell, Rocky Sizemore, Joe Sanfilippo and Charlotte Sanfilippo. Great grandchildren Jasper Fontaine, McKenna McDowell, Kaybree Sanfilippo, Kayden Sanfilippo, and Priscilla Sanfilippo
Chris began her career in the medical field at an early age. She eventually worked in medical offices for a few doctors over the years.
Chris was a friend to many, a great travel companion, she was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed being a regular bingo player at Blue Devils. Most recently Chris was active in the Senior Citizens Society and helped out on Bingo days in Pleasant Hill and Martinez.
Services are being held at Saint Catherine's Church, 606 Menus St. Martinez on Fri., Dec. 14th at 10:00 am.

Enjoyed the friendship of Chris for many years. Initally as a patient where she and Sal went then when the office closed staff and selected patients periodically went to lunch throughout the years. She will be sorely missed. Vicki Jones, Concord, CA.
