Daniel E. Abundis Aug. 5, 1940 - July 15, 2011 Resident of Crockett Daniel Abundis passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Madera, California to Magdalena and Baudelio Abundis. He was 1 of 11 children. After briefly working for the California Department of Forestry, Daniel became employed by C&H Sugar in Crockett and spent the next 38 years there as a power station operator before retiring in 1998. Daniel's future bride, Grace, followed him to the area where he eventually married the love of his life. They first lived in Vallejo and settled two years later in Crockett, where they raised four children. Daniel was a loving husband, father, grandfather (G-Pa), and great-grandfather. Daniel is survived by: his loving wife of 46 years, Grace; sons, Gregory, Christopher, Steve (Cherie); daughter, Catherine Longacre (David); grandchildren, Dominic, Daniel, Alecia, Raymond, Gracie (Sweet Lips); 4 week old great-granddaughter, Sophia; brother, Henry and sisters, Annie, Esther, Beatrice, Marylou, and Connie. Daniel had a green thumb and a passion for gardening in his yard and surrounding neighborhood. He loved attending family functions. He was an avid San Francisco 49er fan. Daniel's fountain of knowledge and his endless advice will be greatly missed. God Bless you Dad. We love you! Rosary will be held at 7pm, July 22 at Wilson & Kratzer Mortuary, 455 24th St., Richmond.
