To all the Miller kids: I hope you remember me and my family. My dad, Sture Johnson, was a pianist who used to play with your dad. My mom was a dancer just like yours; they may have even met dancing at one of those old SF clubs. She danced at The Copacabana which is where she met my dad.
Your mother was such a sweetheart!! Even when I was a youngster, I sensed she just had something of a spark in her that made her very special. We were all pretty young when, occasionally, our families would get together. But we all remember you kids and your parents. I remember we used to call Edward, "Poe." Remember that??
So there are five of us Johnson kids. From the eldest down: Jeff, Sture Jr., Shirley, Karen (me) and Harold. I hope you remember us.
Anyway, the names Bill & Daphne were heard with frequency in our house growing up, and mentioned with great affection by my parents (Sture and Patsy). Your parents showed us a wonderful time at your big house out in either Pleasant Hill or Concord. Hard to imagine how your parents managed having 10 or 11 kids running around at the same time!
Shirley and I thought your mom's obituary was very touching and was a wonderful tribute to a really wonderful lady! Please accept our condolences over her loss.
Shirley and I both live in Danville. If any of you Millers ever want to chat or visit, we're up for it! My cell # is 650-400-8001. Or email: [email protected]
Very best to all of you!
Karen (Johnson) Adams

To son Art...I was taught by your Dad and was happy to work with you. Your Mom must have been an inspiration. Bob

I had the honor of dancing with Daphne for years at DVC with the legendary Joan Burke. She was an amazing woman. This beautiful tribute gets it right when it says her spirit remains intact in the lives she touched. Including mine.
