David - a day doesn´t go by that I think about you. You are missed and remembered.

I worked for the court and saw David always well-respected by judges and attorneys alike. I took law classes from him, and considered myself a friend. He ran exactly the kind of practice I'd want to have. He lived with purpose and integrity and cared for people with a sense for dignity and encouragement. The world could use a few more like him.

He was my baby brother, my youngest sibling, and a genuine (so genuine!) hero.

I met David Kelvin when he came to Oakland, CA and needed someone to do some typing for him. He represented members of my family and many friends with their legal problems. God bless you and keep you for your work!

A day doesn´t go by that I don´t think fondly of David and his wit. You are missed.

I want to reiterate what I said previously , to accentuate the joy that David brought to my formative years. We were friends, fondly competitive in math, history, social sciences and English. He taught me much. His kindness never wavered. We never spoke after Wheatley high....although we communicated briefly by email. Memories of his wit and brilliance are not forgotten. I will always so fondly remember my time working with Dave in San Mateo when he was a young, funny, compassionate and most brilliant lawyer (even then). My condolences to the Kelvin family. He was a true treasure. - Diana Rider, El Granada, CA

I am just learning of this news and it breaks my heart. David was a dear acquaintance. He is a sweet and kind man, loved his children, and was a true ally. He was a complete stranger when I met him and stood by me when no one else would. Twice! Once when fighting a wrongful eviction and again in my divorce. Reflecting on the time I spent with him, I wouldn't even call him an acquaintance, he was my hero. He fought for me and for justice. I know I was not the only one that he went out of his way for. This news hit me so hard. I know that this past year has been so hard for so many of us. But indeed the world lost a good one when he left this earth. Rest in power, David and thank you so very much for standing by me. I will miss you so.

David and I grew up together. We were classmates at North Side school and the Wheatley School, grades 7-12. Without exception, David was decent, honest, trustworthy, incredibly smart, funny, witty, kind and humble. The world was a better place because he lived in it. -Stefan P. David was my brother in a past life. He epitomized the term ‘renaissance man’. I have never a person who rose to such a lofty pinnacle of humanity until I met David.

I looked forward to our 6:00 AM chats about nothing and about everything. He was that type of person who enjoyed dialogue as well as debate. I wish I could simply sum up David. But you can’t sum up a person of David’s humbleness and stature. I find myself thinking of David at odd times of the day and wishing I could just chat. He will be missed and his memory will be cherished. I was proud to simply call him...friend.
