Dean Hegewald Oct. 23, 1944 - Sept. 13, 2005 Fairfield - A Celebration of Life for Dean Hegewald will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2005, from 3:00-6:00pm at Old Town Suisun Plaza, Main St., with family and friends officiating. Mr. Hegewald died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, after his second battle with cancer. A native of Everett, WA, Dean lived in Fairfield for 18 years. Dean was the founder of Helping Hands Out Reach working with numerous churches, Odd Fellows, also he did Thanksgiving, Christmas (with gifts for children), Easter Out Reaches; full course dinners. Dean and his wife also did Out-reach to the homeless of Fairfield for nine years (monthly) at the Lee Bell park and at many churches in this community. They fed the homeless and provided clothing and delivered furniture, food, and shelter with no cost to anyone, ever all on a voluntary basis. Because he loved the Lord, and God's word says feed my sheep wherever they are, and Dean listened and did just that always. Survivors include his wife, Lorrain Hegewald; daughters, Cheryl Carkin and DeAnn Crowder; sons, Richard Johnson and Dustin Hegewald; mother, Mabel Hegewald; brothers, Ronald Hegewald and Dennis Hegewald; and fourteen grandchildren. Dear Hegewald Family....

I was so saddened to read about Dean's passing, but I'm rejoicing in the fact that he is dancing at the right hand of Jesus now. I worked with Dean when he was with the City of Suisun and always admired his positive attitude, his sense of humor, and his humanity. He was a great person and I feel honored to have called him "friend". May God keep you in His loving embrace during your time of sorrow.
