Dennis O'Dell Obituary

DENNIS (DENNY) O'DELL Was born in Oakland, California in the Clark Hotel on July 12, 1926. He attended Sunset Grammar School and graduated Hayward Union High School in June 1944. He entered the Army, was in the Americal Division and was stationed in Sabu, Philippines from 1944 to 1946. He worked at Naval Air Station, Alameda from 1948 to 1961 when he received a phone call from Washington, D.C. asking if he would consider a position at the Naval Air Systems Command. He worked at NASC for 15 years, retired in 1981, and returned to California. He had a custom home built and lived in Valley Springs, CA for 20 years. He then moved to Mission Bay in San Leandro in 2003. Denny had a quick wit and a keen intelligence and loved to fish, cook, socialize and was a news junkie. He leaves two sisters, one daughter from a former marriage , a grandson and a great-granddaughter. He also leaves his wife Dolores of 46+ years. He died from Multiple Myeloma on November 12, 2007 and was cremated at Grissom's Mortuary. No Memorial Services were held complying with his wishes.
