Hayward
Frances went peacefully to sleep with family by her side on December 2 at her care home in Union City. She was 93.
She was born in San Francisco to Charles and Hattie Gentoso. Raised in the City, she met husband Eugene there where he was stationed in the Coast Guard. Frances enlisted in the Coast Guard SPARs to serve "with" him in World War II. They were married in 1943. Eugene passed away in 1996.
Frances loved cruising, quilting, the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, and she absolutely loved San Francisco, "her" city.
Survivors are daughter Donna Madrid, son Dennis Schriber (Linda Franchi); daughter-in-law Darlyene Schriber; granddaughters Jennifer (Pedro) Ayala, Sarah (Rick) Muller, Anna (Aaron) Eigenman and Jill (Justin) Leach; great grandchildren Cassandra (Bryan Brazil) Muller and Cori Muller, Amelia, Amanda and Alexandra Ayala, Faith and Ella Eigenman, Brooklyn and Carter Leach; great great granddaughter Brynnley Brazil.
Services will be at the Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, with a viewing on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 5-8 p.m., and burial on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. from the Mission Chapel.
