FRANK BOLLA Obituary

Frank Bolla Sept. 5, 1916 - June 15, 2012 Resident of Alamo An 89 year resident of Alamo, Frank passed away June 15, 2012. Beloved husband of Melba Bolla of Alamo, beloved son of the late Guiseppe Bolla and the late Catterina Bolla, both of Alamo; loving brother of the late Paul Bolla and brother-in-law of the late Shirley Bolla, both of Alamo; loving uncle of Katherine Bolla and Jerry Bolla of Alamo. The Bolla family, natives of Stella San Giovanni Batista, Provincia di Savona, Italy, came to California in 1910, first settling in Lafayette and then Alamo is 1923. Frank led a diverse and engaging life which spanned most of the 20th century and well into the 21st. He touched many lives, as he worked in the orchards of Alamo, played saxophone professionally as a young man, studied voice in Milan, sang for the Opera in New York, and toured as a singer with the Merry Cavaliers in the 1940's. Frank travelled the United States extensively and contributed generously to numerous causes along the way. A loving family man, devoted friend, opera singer, musician, land developer, avid golfer, Alamo Rotarian, farmer and pioneer of the San Ramon Valley, Frank will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. A Funeral Liturgy celebrating Frank's life will be held Friday, June 22 at 11 am at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Danville followed by a burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette.
