Gladys Mitchell Obituary

Gladys Mitchell Dec. 6, 1935 - Aug. 29, 2009 Resident of Pleasanton It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Gladys Mitchell. She died of complications from surgery for ovarian cancer, which was diagnosed just one month ago. She leaves behind her daughters, Eileen Mitchell and Jennifer McClaskey, son-in-law Rich McClaskey, granddaughter Megan McClaskey, dear family friends Pat O'Loughlin, Dick & Rose McClaskey, Pamela Conley, and numerous friends, neighbors and her church family. She was preceded in death by her husband John Mitchell, who died in 1990. Born in Cali, Colombia, Gladys was the youngest of three siblings; Ivanhoe deRoux (deceased) of Panama and Armando deRoux of France. Outside of her great love for her family, Gladys was a known dog lover and an avid supporter of the Humane Society. Her love for animals will live on through her granddaughter, who is studying to become a veterinarian. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to either the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Gladys' life on Saturday, September 12 at 1:00 pm at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 7557 Amador Valley Blvd in Dublin.
