Ida Violet Morrison

Nov. 11, 1919 - March 22, 2009 Resident of Camino, CA Ida went home peacefully to our Lord on the evening of March 22nd, 2009, at her home in Camino, CA. At her side, to bid her farewell, were her two daughters, Margie and Marie, sons George, Bill and James, son-in-law Donald Drabant, daughters-in-law Nancy and Teresa Morrison and long time family friend Albert Trevino. Ida is survived by her daughters Margie Drabant and Marie Beck, and her three sons, George, Bill and James Morrison. Her daughter Jeanne and husband Dean preceded her in death. Ida was born on November 11th, 1919, in the northern Minnesota town of Baudette and was one of eight children born to Swedish immigrants, Axel and Anna Setterlund. Growing up on a farm, Ida was no stranger to hard work and difficult times, which helped develop her into a vibrant and beautiful woman. She met her husband for life at a local dance in their hometown, and they were married on April 20th, 1948. Ida was an avid cook and was skilled in home canning and prepared wonderful baked goods for her family. Her attention to detail ensured us of an immaculate home filled with love and devotion. Her strong will established a solid family atmosphere. Ida's career as a housewife and mother kept her busy with cleaning and home-cooked meals until her youngest children entered junior high school. She then became the head baker at Tulakes Elementary, in Oklahoma City and later at Thornton Junior High, in Fremont where her skills won her many awards. Ida was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and friend, and she will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held at Jess C. Spencer Mortuary, 21228 Redwood Rd., Castro Valley on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene, 19230 Lake Chabot Rd., Castro Valley, CA. Jess C. Spencer Mortuary, Inc.
