James Tyner Obituary

JAMES R.
TYNER, Sr., 52
Owner Tyner's Trenching

LAKELAND - James (Randy) Tyner, 52, passed away April 4, 2009 at Kindred Hospital in Tampa, Florida from complications of congestive heart failure.
Randy was a native Floridian born at Lakeland Memorial Hospital in Lakeland on September 29, 1956. He graduated from Kathleen High School and Florida Southern College. A natural entrepreneur, Randy owned and operated several businesses over the course of his life: Tyner's Container Citrus; Tyner's Lawn and Maintenance Service; Tyner's Trenching; and Tyner's Produce. In addition to being a business owner, Randy was a philanthropist and took great joy in donating to various causes, organizations, and schools. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger. Randy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Bernard E. Tyner. He is survived by his loving mother, Nelle Tyner; his wife of 20 years, Cheri Tyner; son, James (Rusty) Tyner, Jr.; brother, Wade Tyner; sister, Cissy Turbeville of Lehigh Acres; and a very large extended family along with many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by a service celebrating Randy's life at Heath Funeral Chapel, Lakeland, on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Dress is casual. Jeans are preferred. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be sent to the family at

Randy gave me my first Norfolk pine, it was a tiny little tree but perfect in every way. Randy, Hoss Morgan and I all rode together to Polk Jr. College back in 1974 and what a great time it was! Randy was the happiest, funniest and most self confident person that I guess I have ever known. I only wish that I had kept in touch over the years. I am sorry for your loss but know that he is still with you in your hearts and right beside you every minute of every day! A man like Randy will never be forgotten.
