Joseph Rollo Obituary

Joseph A. Rollo was born in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph and Elizabeth Rollo. He and his twin brother, John, grew up in Forest Hills, NY. Joe attended Woodhull Prep and Allegheny College. He received his MBA from the Bernard Baruch School of Business and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1970. Joe married his high school sweetheart Patricia Willis in 1966. His career included working for U.S. Plywood, Gallo Wines of New Jersey, Guild Wineries and The Wine Institute of California, where he served as the International Director of Marketing. He was an avid reader and baseball fan, but his favorite memories were when he was surrounded by family.Joe is survived by his wife Patricia and three children: John Rollo (Stacy), Jane Balousek (Jon) and Tricia McCann (Brian). He will be dearly missed by his seven grandchildren: Michael, Megan, Jenna, Natalie, Michaela, Addison and Riley, as well as his relatives and many friends.The celebration of life for Joseph Rollo will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 11:00 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Concord. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anthony's Dining Hall in San Francisco or St. Jude.

My condolences to Joe's family. Joe was a wonderful man and a great friend. I'm not sure the US wine industry will fully understand who they lost....but I remember. Susan Spence formerly of the New York Wine & Grape Foundation.
