Juanita "Poochie" Maloney Resident of Napa Juanita "Poochie" Maloney was born February 26, 1930 and passed away peacefully on October 6, 2010. She grew up in Nebraska and graduated from Teka-mah High School. In 1952, she graduated from the University of Nebraska, where she was president of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, a Nebraska cheerleader and a member of Mortar Board. She pursued a journalism career through most of her lifetime with positions at the Denver Post, San Francisco Examiner and Moraga Sun. She married Ed Maloney in 1958 and they had three sons Steve, Mike and Ted. They moved to the Bay Area and settled in Moraga, CA in 1963. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed and son Mike. She is survived by son Steve (Karen) Maloney of Napa, CA; son Ted (Becky) Maloney of Paso Robles, CA; sister Georgianne (Bud) Gerhart of Lincoln, NE; sister Kay (Roger) Ottenbach of Port Orchard, WA; six grandchildren, three great-grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, October 16 at Hull'sWalnut Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the University of Nebraska Foundation, P.O. Box 82555, Lincoln, NE 68501.
