Karalee Keefer Obituary

Karalee Keefer
March 11, 1965 - October 14, 2021
Resident of Walnut Creek, CA
Karalee Lynn Keefer of Walnut Creek passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2021. Karalee was born on March 10, 1965 to Ron and Kathy Dewey in Tacoma, WA. She grew up in Vancouver, WA with her older sister, Kristi, who she loved to competitively bowl with in many leagues. Karalee excelled in school and was the first in her family to attend a 4-year college attending Gonzaga University and graduating with a degree in Accounting. At Gonzaga, she met the love of her life, Larry Keefer. They married in 1988 and moved to the Bay Area where Karalee finished her 10-year journey as an accountant at Abbott Labs.
She settled in Walnut Creek where her family grew with three children Nick, Natalie and Anne. Karalee loved above all else being a mother. She was a very active member of the community, volunteering for numerous organizations including multiple PTA entities, Girl Scouts and church groups, to name a few, always trying to leave things better than she found them.
Karalee loved to camp and backpack with her family in places like Alaska, Hendy Woods, and the High Sierras. She loved to plan trips, whether it was to Spain/Portugal, a weekend in Paris, Hawaii or a cross country road trip. Karalee also loved to plan family outings to spend more time with her kids. She was always up for an adventure. Karalee enjoyed tennis and the occasional round of golf at Diablo Hills.
Karalee is survived by Larry Keefer, her children Nick, Natalie and Anne, her mother Kathy and sister Kristi Parker.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on November 5th at 10:30AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1650 Ygnacio Valley Rd. Walnut Creek, CA followed by a reception in the Church hall. Burial immediately following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1965 Reliez Valley Rd., Lafayette, CA
