I am the ex-wife of Milt Duran Jr. Linda was Milt's aunt. I just heard of Linda's passing and I'm very sad and wish to extend my condolences to Frank, her children, and to the rest of her family.

I always enjoyed Linda--she was a very special person and was the apple of her mother Sophie's eye. I was really happy when she met and married Frank. I worked with her at Harnischfeger Corporation in Oakland in the late 1960's for a short time and she was a great co-worker--very focused and professional, especially for her age.

We lost touch as my marriage ended with Milt but my mother (Emma Vargas) who also lived in Discovery Bay for several years kept me up-to-date on Linda and her family. She talked about what a wonderful mother she had become and what a nice person she was.

She was a very special lady and I will miss her.

I cry for her every night. She was such an important part in my life. I will miss her so much. I was blessed with two of the best people to have as my in-laws they have brought such joy to my life. I see many of Mom J's attributes in my children and my husband. It gives me great comfort to know she will remain in my life always through them. She was and will always be remembered an incredible woman. I will love her forever.

We are saddened to hear of Linda's passing. I recall this young vibrant, bright young lady coming to work for me in 1968 when Frank was away in the service. Having moved here from the East, Linda introduced me to my first taco. She often needed to get an afternoon snack. She was a highly efficient, capable secretary.

Later when she reached 21 we took her out for her first legal alcoholic drink. Frank was still away serving our country. After she was with child she brought her friend Joann to help us in the office. We were very fortunate to have had such highly qualified ladies who became also our good friends.

Linda is an incredible and faith field woman who always shared love with both I and our daughter Annalise, every time we saw her. She consoled me when my own mother passed away and she welcomed me into their Christmas celebration that year without a thought as to how long it had been since I had last seen her. She will be missed dearly. Love to all of you and our prayers are with you all. Rest with God, Linda and we will see you again at our time. Love, Lana and Annalise.
