Linda Rhoades

Linda Alm Rhoades Mar. 11, 1946-Apr. 6, 2013 Long Time Resident of Contra Costa and Recently Residing in Pacifica Linda Alm Rhoades, a past resident of Orinda and Walnut Creek passed away on April 6, 2013 from complications from cancer with her loving son, Rob, and brother, Kent, by her side. Linda's husband, Robert Rhoades, passed in 2002. Linda is survived by her son, Robert Rhoades of Chico, Calif., mother, Kay Alm of Orinda and brother, Kent Alm, of Walnut Creek, her nephew Kent Alm II of Santa Cruz, her niece Annalisa Alm of Walnut Creek, and several more generations of loving relatives. Linda was born in Denver, Colorado and moved to Whittier, California as a toddler. The family then moved to Contra Costa where she graduated from Miramonte High School in Orinda. She continued her education at the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated in 1968. Linda immediately joined Pan-American World Airways in 1968 and flew a multitude of international routes until 1991 as a flight attendant, purser, and instructor. She returned to California to raise a family, settling in Pacifica near the airport where her husband, Bob, held a management position. Linda was always focused on family and community matters and also spent time as a dedicated teacher for the Laguna Salada School District. For the last 10 years, she returned to her love for the airline industry and was employed in customer service positions for San Francisco International Airport. Linda traveled the world extensively, was a devoted mother, a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and the best of friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A private family memorial service was held on April 15, 2013. A "Celebration of Life" will take place on May 19 at Mavericks Event Center in Half Moon Bay for her loving family and friends to attend in order to share Linda's memories and pay tribute to a remarkable life.
