Lindol Peebles

Lindol (Lynn) Peebles A longtime Martinez Resident Lynn, a former elder with the Jehovah's Witnesses, died Feb. 7th, at age 95. Lynn was one of 10 children born to Wyatt Savage and Sofie Anne Peebles. He grew up on the family farm in rural Stonewall County, Texas. After his father's death in 1935, Lynn brought his mother and younger sisters to California to find work. Lynn was predeceased by his wife Fern (Simpson) of 51 years. The couple relocated to Santa Rosa in early 1990's. Lynn moved to Rossmoor after Fern's death in 1997. Lynn loved music both country and big band and liked it loud. Lynn also enjoyed volunteering at Special Olympic events with his daughter Denise. Lynn is survived by his son, Dan Peebles (Charlotte) of Martinez; daughter, Denise Murphy (Chris) of Alamo; six granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial will be held at 3 p.m., March 23rd, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2207 Buena Vista Ave, Walnut Creek.
