LuAlice Ball Obituary

LuAlice Irene Ball LuAlice Ball was born LuAlice Irene Dunahee in Twin Falls, Idaho, on December 5, 1930. She lost her battle with cancer and passed into Glory on January 15, 2005. At an early age, LuAlice demonstrated gifted vocal abilities and sang her first solo, "Jesus Loves Me," at age 2. Later she attended college at Pepperdine University where she studied music and business. Over her 74 years, she put her vocal talents and musical education to good use by singing and leading in dozens of choruses, chorales and choirs both in her community and in her church. Among these were the Mendelssohn Club of Richmond, the Rossmoor Community Chorus and the Contra Costa Chorale. LuAlice also served her Lord as choir director, pianist and organist at the First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill for 38 years. LuAlice and her husband of 49 years, Walter Ball, lived and raised their family in Richmond, California, and later retired to Rossmoor of Walnut Creek in 1999. LuAlice is survived by her devoted husband, Walter, and her loving children, David, Nolana, Florain, Richard, and 13 grandchildren. Viewing will be on Thursday, January 20, 2005 from 1PM to 5PM at McNary - Morgan - Greene and Jackson Mortuary 3630, Telegraph Avenue, Oakland. Interment private. On Saturday, January 22, at 11:00 AM, a memorial will be held in her honor at the First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill at 2115 Pleasant Hill Road. Donations may be made to the Hospice of Contra Costa @ www.hospicecc.org or by calling 925/609-1830.
