Resident of Fremont
Beloved Lucien Mikinka, 80, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 15, following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
He Leaves behind his ex wife of 41 years, Kathy, daughters: Patty, Debbie, Nicky. Son, Bobby. Grandson's, Scott and Chase, as well as many friends in his community.
Born and raised in Leige, Belgium, Lucien migrated to the U.S. in 1957 to achieve the "All American Dream". After earning an Engineering Degree, he met and married the mother of his four children and built a very successful life, settling in Fremont, CA.
After working for many years as a Detailer in the Rebar industry, Lucien sold off his share of a partnership to pursue his life long dream of owning his own Rebar company where he worked alongside his son and daughter for several years.
An avid golfer, Lucien was a long time member of the Fremont Rodent Society, and enjoyed socializing among friends at Massimo's, Spin-A-Yarn and the Huddle.

I have fond memories of Bobby's father from my visits to CA and their visits to PHX. I remember calling Bay City Rebar to talk to Bobby and having nice lengthy chats with Mr. Mikinka. He was such a kind man. My prayers are with the Mikinka family.
