Resident of San Leandro
Manuel Escobar Jr. passed away March 14, 2013 at the age of 75 he was born on December 26, 1937 Azores Portugal island of Faial the town of Cedros. He was a long time residence of San Leandro CA for 51 years. He was married to Marie A Escobar for 51 years. He was a union carpenter for local 36 in Hayward for 26 years. He is survived by his Son's Manuel S. Escobar (Ines) of Danville, David L Escobar (Cheri) of Ripon. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Andrea, Dylan, Jaylen, Thalia, and Sophia. He is survived by his Mother Anna Escobar of Modesto, and was preceded by his father Manuel S. Escobar Sr. Devoted brother of Mary da Rosa of Cedros Faial Azores, Laura Avila of Piedade Pico Azores, Alice Elledge of Texas, Rosa Escobar of Lathrop and Mary Baptista of Modesto. 2 Brothers precede in death Antonio and Joe Escobar. Survived by Sister In-law Mary Grego of Walnut Creek and Brother In-Laws Manuel Grego of Walnut Creek, Roger da Rosa Cedros Faial Azores, Joe Avila Piedade Pico Azores, Bob Elledge of Texas and Mike Baptista of Modesto. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He loved being around the family and loved to work in his garden. All his family will sadly miss him. Visitation will be Monday 3-18-13 Noon to 8:30 P.M. with the Vigil service commencing at 7:00 P.M. at SANTOS-ROBINSON MORTUARY 160 Estudillo Ave. San Leandro. The procession will be leaving the mortuary on Tuesday at 8:30 A.M. for the Funeral Liturgy celebrating his life commencing at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward

We are so sorry for your loss, Cousin Manuel was a wonderful,kind and fun person, we had lots of great gatherings many years ago. I know what you boys are going through, it is very hard in beginning but share your memories with each other and others, it keeps him alive in your hearts, never be afraid to let the emotion come and also the laughter. It has been five for us and we still talk, cry and laugh everyday. While working on an album for my dad came across pictures of us as kids with our fathers, and a pony and I thinking where the heck did the pony come from, who knows where our fathers got it from. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.
