Maria de Lurdes Adão June 27, 1924 - Jan. 30, 2009 Resident of El Cerrito Born in Ilhavo, Portugal, Maria moved to California with her family in 1966, having resided in El Cerrito for the last 25 years. Preceded by her husband Manuel Adão she is survived by her children Maria Manuela Rodrigues and her husband Manuel, Antonio Manuel Adão and his wife Deolinda, and Maria de Lurdes Sena and her husband Alfredo; her grandchildren Mario Emanuel Silva and his wife Stacie, Pedro Miguel Adão and his wife Suzette, Victor Manuel Adão and his wife Anne Marie, Michael Joseph Sena and his wife Sandra, and Lisa Maria Sena; and great-grandchildren Lenora de Silva, Andreas Adão, Sofia Adão, Antonio Adão, Analicia Adão, Marisa Adão, and Natalia Sena. She also leaves behind her sister Deolinda Pio and her husband Jose Pio, her sister-in-law Maria Carrancho, and many nieces and nephews. After a long battle with Alzheimer's, she passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving children. Family and friends are invited to attend Visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by the Rosary on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Holy Angels Funeral Home located in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 2540 Church Lane, San Pablo. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at St. John's Catholic Church in El Cerrito. Family request that any charitable contributions made in her remembrance be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Fund, or any other Alzheimer's research organization.
