Resident of Alameda
Yolanda Barrantes died peacefully at her home in Alameda surrounded by her family. Yolanda grew up in Lima, Peru and worked as a Financial Assistant at Banco Union in Lima. During that time, she met her future husband Edgar, they married, and came to California in 1956. Yolanda is survived by her loving husband of 61 years; and their children Julie Apel (Michael), Jackie Myovich (John), Flavio Barrantes (Elizabeth); and grandchildren Christina, Erika, and Mark Apel, Daniela and Andrea Myovich, and Luisa and Luca Barrantes. She also leaves behind her dear sisters Luisa, Clara, Alicia, cousin Rosa, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend The Rosary and Vigil at Alameda Funeral and Cremation Services at 1415 Oak Street, Alameda, CA. on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at 7pm and the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Basilica, 1109 Chestnut St., Alameda on Friday, at 11 am. Interment following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette, CA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation the Dominican Sisters at Mission San Jose. For further information please call: Harry W. I just saw Jackie's Mom last summer at Golf Course w/her family and she was so happy and radiant..what a wonderful Mother..God Bless you and family..we will see our loved ones again in Heaven!
