Marie Anita Wiechmann May 15, 1911 - February 13, 2004 Born in Chicago, Marie moved to Alameda at the age of three months. She graduated from Alameda High School and the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Math/Education. She taught for some 40 years, three years in Georgetown, CA and then until retirement, in the Martinez Unified School District. While teaching, and also in retirement, Marie traveled the world. On return, she generously shared what she had learned, seen and experienced with family, friends, and many organizations. Marie spent the last 30 plus years living in Walnut Creek. She held membership in: Casa Alhambra, IOOF, Honorary Life Member of California Congress of Parents and Teachers, Inc., Fifty Year Life Member of El Dorado-Fern Chapter No. 62, O.E.S., AAUW, Retired Member for Life of the California Retired Teacher's Association (Diablo Vista), Alamo Women's Club and the Zeta Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Marie is survived by her niece, Ruth Marie (nee Wiechmann) Flucke and Rod MacKenzie of Bellingham, WA; grand nephews, Peter and Mark Flucke and their families of Wisconsin; grand nephews, Michael Wiechmann of Madera and Dennis Wiechmann of Clovis, their families and their mother, Marsha Infausto of Fresno; grand niece, Amy (nee Wiechmann) Prince, her husband, Patrick and her mother, Barbara Pelletier, all of Fresno. Great grand nephews are Daniel Flucke of Wisconsin, David, Jacob, Austin and Trevor Wiechmann and Mason David Prince of Madera, Clovis and Fresno. Great grand nieces are Melissa Marie, Alexandra Laurel and Lynn Marie Flucke of Wisconsin. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Leona Neuert Wiechmann; her brother, Robert Otto Wiechmann, his wife, Laurel Harriet Cummings Wiechmann and her nephew David Robert Wiechmann.
