Mark Elliot Nielsen

Mark Elliot Nielsen Oct. 7, 1958 - Feb. 17, 2007 Former Resident of Antioch Mark , 48 years of age, passed away very suddenly from heart failure in his new home in Pollock Pines, El Dorado County. He was born in Santa Monica, raised in Moraga and spent 16 years as a resident of Antioch. He graduated from Campolindo High School and University of San Francisco. His career was in his own business in project management for computer networking. Mark, a devoted husband and father, is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Janell Stubblefield Nielsen; his two children, Kristen Nicole Nielsen and Erik Wayne Nielsen; two brothers and their wives and families, Kurt and Mary Nielsen of Benicia, and Craig and Ermalyn Nielsen of Hillsboro, Oregon; his mother, Gay Nielsen of Moraga; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Joan Stubblefield of Clayton; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Diana Stubblefield of Colorado Springs, Colorado and sons; and an extended loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Nielsen. Mark had an exuberance for life and was involved in many activities. He was an Eagle Scout, a coach for Little League, a dedicated fisherman, a photographer, a golfer, and a connoisseur of food. He had a multitude of friends and was active in his community. His favorite pastimes were writing, playing and singing his own musical compositions and recording them for his friends and family. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Concord, 1965 Colfax, Concord. The family requests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
