Michael John Laituri

Michael John Laituri died peacefully with his family by his side at Antioch Kaiser Permanente Medical Center on November 5, 2023, in Antioch, California at the age of 74.Michael is survived by his wife of 52 years Carol Laituri of Antioch, CA; son Michael Laituri and wife Misty of Rio Vista, CA; daughter, Mindy Laituri of Concord, CA, sister Melinda Laituri and husband, Gregory George of Fort Collins, CO; niece Megen MacKenzie of Loveland, CO; sister-in-law Linda Laituri of Oakley, CA; nephew Dominic Laituri of New Orleans, LA and step-mother, Mildred Laituri of Painesville, OH. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia (Jean) Laituri and father, Mauno John Laituri of Painesville, OH and brother, Jonathan Laituri of Oakley, CA.Michael was born in Pasadena, CA on December 1, 1948. He graduated from California State University, East Bay with a bachelor's degree in political science and a Master of Public Administration. He married Carol Conyers in 1971. Mike was a procurement agent for several different engineering companies throughout his career. The family spent two years overseas in Khartoum, Sudan where Mike went diving in the Red Sea and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.Mike was passionate about music and politics and enjoyed playing the ukulele with the Delta Strummers in Antioch. He was a kind and generous man who loved his family, traveling, and singing in the choir at St. John's Lutheran Church where he and his wife were members since 1982.A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on December 2, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1360 East Tregallas, Antioch, CA, 94509 with a luncheon to follow. Reverend Rachel Semovoski will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mike's life.
