Nicholas Biondi Obituary

Nicholas Biondi
July 1, 1932 - March 30, 2021
Resident of Moraga, CA
Nicholas A Biondi died of natural causes on the evening of March 30th at the age of 88. He was born July 1, 1932 in Brooklyn New York to Christine M. (Rotunno) Biondi and Victor D. Biondi. He spent the first 13 years of his life growing up in Endicott, New York surrounded by a large extended Italian family. In 1946 he came to Oakland California, graduated from Castlemont High School in 1950 and received a secondary teaching credential and a master's degree in education from San Jose State in 1956.
Nick is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille. Together they spent over 45 years in Moraga CA and raised 3 children, Ann-Marie (Biondi) Havens of Lodi CA, Matthew N. Biondi of Southern CA and a deceased son, Michael J. Biondi, of San Ramon, CA. He is also survived by his siblings, Joann M. Biondi of Walnut Creek, CA, and Victor J. Biondi and his wife Shirley of El Dorado Hills, CA. Nick was blessed with eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In 1956 he taught and coached water polo at Menlo - Atherton High School in Atherton, CA until he joined the New York Life Insurance Company, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement. Nick then served as a volunteer docent at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. He was the hospital's "ambassador of goodwill" speaking with patients, sharing stories, jokes and making them comfortable with their hospital stay. His life was filled with an incredible number of loyal friends and he always had a joke or story to tell.
Nick enjoyed fishing, watching the 49er's play football, and tinkering in his garage. He was especially fond of sailing in the San Francisco Bay with family and friends, where his ashes will be scattered. Memorial donations may be made to John Muir Docents: 1601 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek, CA 94598.

Nick was a caring, friendly individual with a smile that warmed your heart. He had a positive attitude and encouraged our other residents to join along in activities. Our sympathy and condolences go out to his family and friends. We appreciated the opportunity to have known and interacted with Nick when he lived at our Senior Community Villa San Ramon, a few years ago. He will be missed, but our memories of him with continue to go on. Nick left a wonderful imprint on our hearts!
