Patricia Cassidy Meyersieck

Patricia (Pat) Cassidy Meyersieck passed away on September 30, 2022, after a short and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends.Pat was born in Levittown Pennsylvania, the third of six children and only sister to her five brothers. In 1975, after finishing high school, she moved with her family to California and attended Brooks College for a degree in Fashion and Design. It was love at first sight when Bo first spotted Pat at Crogans in Walnut Creek in 1983. After a whirlwind romance, they married in 1985 and settled in Lafayette.After pursuing a successful career in retail at the Gap, Pat took time off to raise her family while in her "spare time" working as an instructional aide for 25 years at Burton Valley Elementary School. In the words of her school principal, "She had the warmth and patience of a kindergarten teacher and the humor and jokes that worked magic with 5th graders". Above all, Pat adored family and home. Her "boys" - husband Bo, and sons, TJ and James - were the light of her life. Pat cherished relaxing with her family, and the dogs, Murphy and Willie, by her side. She also found solace working in her garden in which she took tremendous pride. In springtime, her lilacs and sweet peas, artfully arranged, were enjoyed in homes throughout the neighborhood. Pat's artistic talents ranged from watercolor to woodworking. Her home and those of friends and family are filled with Pat Meyersieck originals. Holidays and special occasions were her favorite excuse to decorate and bestow heartfelt, handmade gifts. Pat generously shared her expertise, helping friends and students take an idea and turn it into an artistic masterpiece. Her home was often overflowing with neighborhood children who adored her playful humor, listening ear and innovative craft projects.Preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Tess Cassidy and brother Dennis, Pat is survived by her husband of 35 years, James (Bo) Meyersieck and her two sons Thomas (TJ) and James Meyersieck, brothers Michael (Nicole), Kevin (Diane Brown), Tom and Jeff, and brothers-in-law, John (Barbara) Meyersieck and Ken (Lindsey) Meyersieck and sister-in-law Beth Meyersieck, along with seven nieces and nephews. Pat's kindness, humor, and warm smile will never be forgotten.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat's memory to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 27th at 3:30 PM at St Perpetua Catholic Church with a reception immediately following.St. Perpetua Catholic Church3454 Hamlin RoadLafayette, CA 94549
