Patrick Joseph died March 19, 2022, in Oakland, CA on the feast of Saint Joseph. Age 77.
Patrick was born December 19, 1944, in Oakland, CA. He was the 4th child and only son of the late Patrick and Rachel Courtney McGee. Preceded in death by sisters, Eileen and Maureen McGee. Loving and generous brother of Sister Patrice, C.S.C. (Sarah) and Agnes McGee. Godchild of the late Mary (Sis) Hallahan. Survived by many cousins here and in England.
Pat attended grade school at St. Bernard and St. Elizabeth '59, and graduated from St. Elizabeth High School '63.
Pat served two years in the US ARMY in Korea during the Vietnam war.
He retired after working 38 years a mail handler for the US Postal Service.
Pat was actively involved in the Catholic Youth Organization, (CYO) program for the Diocese of Oakland for more than 50 years.
He loved all sports and was a huge fan of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the SF 49ers.
Pat kept abreast of things by reading 2 newspapers daily, playing cards and enjoying TV.
He was a faithful Catholic and parishioner for 70 years at Saint Elizabeth Church where he attended Mass and served as head usher.
Visitation at Coopers Chapel April 4, 3 to 7 pm, Rosary 5pm. Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Church celebrated April 5 at 10am followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward, CA. Donations in his memory may be made to Cristo Rey De La Salle, SAINT ELIZABETH CAMPUS P.O. Box 7010, Oakland, CA 94601 or the charity of choice.
Following the burial, lunch will be served at St. Clement's Parish Hall adjacent to Moreau Catholic High School.

I went to SEH with Pat, he was a year ahead of me with my brother Mike. Pat was a fixture for many years at the CYO basketball games. He spent many a day keeping the clock during the games. We frequented many of the local establishments such as the Idle Hour and the Master's where Pat was well known and liked. He will be missed but remembered by many members of the parish. Our condolences to the family.
