Ralph Martin Leon Sr.

Ralph Martin Leon, Sr. Ralph Martin Leon, Sr. passed away on January 1, 2006 in Sacramento, CA at the age of 86. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eileen. He is survived by four children; sons, Ralph Leon, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, and Carl Leon; daughters, Linda and Delores Leon; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Naomi Munoz, Esther Maestas and Lydia McBride; and brothers, Moses Leon, Elias Leon and Amos Leon. Ralph served in the US Army during WWII in the Philippines and was a civil defense warden after the war. He loved planes and was a pilot and owner of a few planes. He started the Scuba Diving Club in El Cerrito. He served as president of the American Welding Society for a number of years and was a welding instructor for Contra Costa College for 30 years. Ralph was actively involved with the SPCA and was a member of Lions, Masons and Elks. His true love was amateur radio and being a volunteer for the Parks Dept. He is responsible for many trees planted in El Cerrito. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday, January 9, 2006, at 11:00 AM at Sunset View Mortuary, junction of Fairmount and Colusa Ave.'s in El Cerrito.
