Richard F. Hamilton

Dick Hamilton passed away on 8/25/2022 due to complications from prostate cancer and being 94 years old. He was proud of his Visalia, Ca roots; so proud, in fact, that he purchased the 42 acre ranch he grew up on while in town visiting for a high school reunion. He was also proud of his University of California heritage where he met his wife of 69 years, Patricia Nichols. Pat passed away in 2017 and was the love of his life. They named their home in Diablo, Ca "Adelante Osos" (Go Bears) as a testament to their love for Cal. Many knew him as the CEO of Monterey Mechanical Co., a general engineering contractor in Oakland, Ca. He purchased the company along with Howard Garnick and Conrad Haas from his mentor George Loorz and led it to its prominent position today in the Bay Area construction community. Dick loved being a private pilot, golf, the Oakland A's, Diablo Country Club, and all things Cal. His association with the Clipper Club and its members was very dear to him. His family loved and respected him beyond measure. He is survived by his sons Stuart and Scott (Carolyn), and his grandkids Krista Bertsch (Phil), Jeff Hamilton (Vanessa), Kelly McKenney (Kyle), Jack Hamilton, and six great-grandchildren.At his request memorial services will be private. Remember him when you hug your family or watch a Cal game.
