Richard Nishkian Obituary

Richard Armen Nishkian
Jul 28, 1932-Nov 2, 2018
Walnut Creek
Richard Armenr Nishkian quietly left this world on November 2, 2018 at sunrise. He was 86. An extraordinary man, who led a full and abundant life, by working hard, and implementing integrity into his daily routine.
Born in San Francisco, he was raised in the Avenues. He attended Lincoln High School and further matriculated at University of San Francisco and graduated in 1954. In his younger years, he relished in his daily swim in the Pacific Ocean, near the Cliff House. His nickname was "Nish the Fish" and he enjoyed his daily dip by continuing to swim well into his mid 80's.
Though many accolades and accomplishments in business with Cal Energy as a Senior Vice President and CFO, as well as Deloitte&Touche, his greatest passion was his family. At the end of a long 14 hour day, his family is what he treasured most, what he cherished. Providing for them brought him joy, and seeing them secure, brought him a great sense of satisfaction.
Sadly, he lost his first wife Noreen ( MacIntyre) Nishkian quite young, leaving him to raise three Boys ages 7, 4 and 2. He then met and fell in love with one of his sons Kingergarten teachers, SunnySue (Faust) Nishkian, and they were married for 38 years living in Orinda, CA. He is also predeceased by his two sons, Robert Nishkian, and Gregory Nishkian. He is survived by his last son, Phillip Nishkian and his wife Patricia (Lambing) Nishkian, as well as three Grandchildren, Parker, Grace and Natalie.
He was a man of high intellect and admired hard working people. While later living in Rossmoor, he wrote numerous letter to the Editor for the Contra Costa Times, and many were published. He loved to golf, to ski and adored dogs. A celebration of his plentiful life will be held at a later time. Should you be so inclined, donations may be made to the:
Sierra Pacific Great Pyrenees Club, 8700 Golden Spur Drive, Granite Bay, CA 95746.
