RICK FENSTERMAKER Obituary

Rick Fenstermaker 1952-2012 Resident of Alameda After a courageous battle with cancer we lost our kind and loving Rick on April 9, 2012. He fought with such amazing bravery with Eve "wife and love of his life" by his side. Faithful father of Blake (fianc‚e Katie), Ross and Alyssa. Survived by his precious mother Jane and late father Lester, brother Gary (Cathy) many adored brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends. Rick was born and raised in Alameda and graduated from Encinal High School. He was an avid sports fan and played football, baseball and basketball. Thanks to his son Ross, who is a scout for the Texas Rangers, he went to the World Series in 2010. He was also a beloved park director for the Alameda Parks and Recreation Department. After high school Rick attended Cal State University Hayward and later worked as a broker for Gallagher and Lindsey. He later moved to Granite Bay where he continued his career in real estate. Rick's celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on June 23, 2012 at his home 6146 Shadowbrook Dr. Granite Bay, CA. A sunset memorial will take place under the beautiful arbor and in front of the reflection pond that Rick had just recently completed. We invite family and friends to share any special memory that you have of Rick. There will also be an area for picture sharing as well. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to www.curemeso.org/tribute. Rick Fenstermaker Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, 1317 King St. Alexandria, VA 22314

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

At a combined EHS reunion. I was thrilled that Rick kind of remembered me at this class reunion. Sad that he has passed; my condolences to his family.

Sandy and I were saddened by the loss of Rick. We went all the way back to Washington School with him. He was always an honorary Quesada and he had a beautiful spirit. He is dearly missed. Our love and prayers to Eve and his family. Rest in Peace Fens.

Rick was my first high school boyfriend. He carried my books and bounced a basketball all the way to Encinal's! We never kissed but I had a cement backyard and a regulation hoop! We shot a lot of hoops! He was so smart and kind he also helped me with homework! He will be missed and thought of often. He was one of a kind!

Sorry, a little late to find out. My deepest sympathies to the family. Rick was a great friend and a great competitor when we played at Encinal. The time we hung out together were always fun cruising in the Mustang. My heart is sad. Save a spot for me big guy just like on the buses.
