Robert LeBow Obituary

Robert J. LeBow Jan. 17, 1929 - May 19, 2010 Resident of Livermore Robert Joe LeBow passed away Wednesday May 19th, 2010 at the age of 81. He was a loving husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend to many. Beloved husband of Connie Susan LeBow. Loving Father of Jeff LeBow, Julie Farner, Robert LeBow, Brian LeBow, and Michael LeBow. Endearing Grandfather to Jessica LeBow, Jamie LeBow, Bobby Farner, Cameron LeBow and Riley LeBow. He was a brother to Bertha McAllister and uncle to Norman and Barbara Dalsis, Troy and Vicky Tollen, and Tom Tollen. Bob was born January 17th, 1929 in Aberdeen, Washington to Robert Charles LeBow and Helen Rita Donahue. After High School Bob joined the military, proudly serving in the Navy for 20 years from1946-1966. Following his service, the family lived in Milpitas while he worked for FMC Corporation. After joining Sandia National Laboratory, in 1969, the family relocated to Livermore in 1972. Bob volunteered his help to his co-workers that were sick and dying in his last several years at Sandia. He retired from Sandia in 1994, after 25 years of service. Bob had a large group of friends and made them easily with his great welcoming spirit, generosity, love for everyone and warm smile. Bob's joys in life included going to garage sales, spending time with his grandchildren, hanging out in the garage with his friends and neighbors, and fixing things. Up until a few years ago, he enjoyed riding his Harley. He loved fishing and donated his time to teach children with special needs how to fish. He also loved to cook and his specialty was making pancakes for his grandchildren. He even performed house calls with griddle and 'secret recipe' in tote. Services will be held on Tuesday May 25, 2010 with a mass at 12:00 pm at St. Michael's Church, 458 Maple Street, Livermore, CA reception to follow. My friend, Bob.... I had the blessing of spending about 45 min. with Bob the day befor he passed. We talked of fishing and cracked jokes, the way only Bob could.
