Resident of Albany
Robert Edward Nichols passed away peacefully on February 28, 2022 at the age of 34 in his hometown of Albany, California. He is survived by his parents, Robert E. Nichols and Janet Nichols, sister Kristin Nichols, brother-in-law Thomas Warrner, niece Betty Warrner, and nephew Frederick Warrner.
Robert graduated from Albany High School where he was the first four-time league wrestling champion and inducted in the Albany High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012. Robert graduated from the University of Oregon and was an avid fan of the Oregon Ducks football team.
Robert worked for the University of California in the Disabled Student Services Department, providing assistance to students furthering their education.
Although Robert lived a private life, it was well known that he loved video games, grabbing a drink with friends, and was an eternal pizza savant. Robert enjoyed all types of athletic activities including wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, college and professional football, basketball and soccer. Robert was a proud uncle and cherished pizza parties and movie nights with his niece.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, March 19 at Sunset View Mortuary in El Cerrito. Interment will be private at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Albany High School Athletic Boosters fund for the Wrestling Team.
