Sandy YOUNG Obituary

Sandy Young Resident of Oakley On Sept 5th, 2010, Sandy passed away after a sudden battle with kidney stones caused by a sepsis infection. Born on March 30th, 1958, Sandy grew up on The Flying Y Ranch in Mill Valley along with her twin brother Randy Hanson. She loved caring for horses and spent her early years showing them in competitions. She moved to Sebastopol as a teenager and graduated from Analy High School. Sandy met Marc Young, a professional bass fisherman in 1996. The two fell in love just before Sandy was tragically injured in a Jet Ski accident that left her paralyzed. She fought this obstacle and emerged as an inspiration to many people. The two were married on Oct 1st, 2000. Sandy loved to spend time on their boat, in the Delta, enjoying the wildlife. The couple became one of the few husband and wife fishing teams to compete in bass tournaments. Sandy's strength and determination won't be forgotten by everyone who knew her. She is also loved by her two daughters and three grandchildren. A memorial for Sandy will be held Sept 18th at Sugar Barge on Bethel Island at 1pm. Contributions can be made to Redwood Credit Union in Trust of Sandy Young and mailed to PO Box 684 Penngrove, CA 94951.
