March 8, 1933 - April 20, 2016
Resident of Castro Valley
A long time resident of Castro Valley, Veronica entered into rest April 20, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Oliver, four children, and two grand children. She grew up in Ashland with an extended family of her mother, grandparents, and cousins and attended Hayward High School. She and Oliver settled in Castro Valley to raise their four children. Veronica enjoyed drawing and painting with her local art clubs and spending time with her family. An avid walker, her friends frequently spotted her walking to church and to various stores around town with her husband.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 7 pm at Jess C. Spencer Mortuary 21228 Redwood Road, Castro Valley. Funeral services will be at Transfiguration Church, 4000 East Castro Valley Boulevard, Castro Valley on Wednesday, April 27 at 10 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward.

I have many memories of being with her and her mother Viola, when I was young at family gatherings of the Maciel family. I always thought she was so beautiful when I was growing up.
