Walter Judson Jones entered peacefully into rest in Concord after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 75 years old. Born in Spearmint, Texas on June 12, 1938, Walter was a man who had many talents. A mechanic by trade, he enjoyed working on cars, and attending antique car shows with his brother in law. Whenever he had the chance, he would watch Formula 1 car races. In later years, Walter became a general contractor who restored many Victorian homes for San Franciscan families. An avid animal lover, he had a fondness for horses and also was fascinated with Astronomy. Above all he was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed the many memories that were made at Stinson Beach. Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Grace. He leaves behind his devoted children Jennifer Jones (Steve), Alexander Jones (Jayde), and Linnette Jones. He will truly be missed by his granddaughter Aurora Grace as well as his loving mother Viola Abbott Grice and sister Edwina Martens (Charles). Walter also is survived by many nieces,nephews and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Jones and his brothers, Richard, Tommy and Jay. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Ouimet Bros., Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord, CA.
