Bill and I started at DeVry University at about the same time, and over the years we shared many conversations about our students and how to ensure that they were receiving the best education possible. He was concerned about both their technical skills and their "softer" ones that would help them to be perceived as well-rounded students and citizens of the world. Every thing I ever heard him say had to do with making sure that our students got the technology and teaching to which they were entitled. Our campus has lost a powerful voice, our students have lost a true advocate, and our faculty have lost a role model. Speed safely, my friend, and rest well.
