Mother Arithree Taylor-Byrd, 82 of Clovis, New Mexico passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Harrison at Heritage, in Fort Worth Texas.
Arithree was born December 29, 1938, to Willie T. Taylor and Girlie Mae Haynes in Harrison County Texas. She married Ben Byrd in Clovis NM.
She worked many years at Snazzy Pig Restaurant, Joe Stanley Restaurant, and retired at Cook's Truck Stop, as a Fry Cook, and a Prep Cook. She was known for her good cooking by everyone who met her.
When Arithree retired, she continued working with the Senior Companion Program, where she would take care of the elderly people by cooking, cleaning, driving them to Doctor appointments, and being a caring companion. She would always read the Bible to them and talk about the goodness of God.
She was a faithful member of First Church of God in Christ, for over 50 years, where she served in Hospitality, An Intercessory Prayer Warrior, and Outreach Ministry. No one she met was a stranger, she loved everyone.
Arithree preceded in death by her parents: five brothers, Leo, Hosea, Daniel, Ezekiel, and Tracy, three sisters, Virgie, Bertha, and Lillie, two granddaughters, Shareka Calhoun, and Jamie Anderson.
Survivors include eight children, Dianne Nance (Kent Dwayne), Alton T. Calhoun, Renetta Renae Hicks (Oscar), Willie Calvin Calhoun (Betty), Donna Marie Gayden, Juanita Denise Potter (Walter), Pamela Mae Anderson (James Edward) and Carl Calhoun, one brother Oral Taylor, three sisters Pearl O'Neal, Bobbie Johnson, and Opal Jackson, fourteen grandchildren, Keisha, Tyreaus, Kerwin, Xavier, James Jr., Desmond, Terrell, Marzett, Krystal, Katana, Tameisha, John, Dana and Serena, sixteen great grandchildren, Jasmine, Donte, Kia, Amaya, Kyrie, Marzett Jr. Eternity, Kimora, Karington, Liam, Callie, Zamaurie, Blaze, James III, Tyanne, and Cayce, seven Great Great Grandchildren, Miracle, Neveah, Miley, McKenzie, Miyah, Carmelo, and Kai. Host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Homegoing Celebration Services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, @ 12:00 pm, at First Church of God in Christ, 3400 Vinton St., Clovis, NM. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Arrangements have been entrusted to Muffley Funeral (575) 762-4435. Pallbearers are Tyreaus Calhoun, Kerwin Nance, Xavier Calhoun, Terrill Calhoun, Marzett Calhoun, Desmond Calhoun, John T. Gayden II, and James Edward Anderson Jr. Honorary Pallbearers Alton T. Calhoun, Willie Calvin Calhoun, Kent D. Nance, James Edward Anderson, Leonard Wayne Thomas, Walter Ray Potter, John T.
