Gene Adkins Obituary

Gretna…….Gene Everett Adkins, age 79 of Gretna died Monday, July 29, 2024 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.     


Born November 24, 1944 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Lawyers William Adkins, Sr. and Pauline “Polly” Walters Adkins.  He was predeceased by one brother, Robert Adkins.  Mr. Adkins was a member of Greenpond Baptist Church and he retired from the Lane Company.  He enjoyed coon hunting.      


He is survived by one brother, Lawyers Adkins, Jr. and fiancée, Ellen Hunt of Dry Fork.


Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Greenpond Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland.

I found out Monday that Mr. Adkins had passed. Im going to miss waiting on him when he would come into the post office to buy stamps and get money orders. He would always joke with me. Rest well Mr. Adkins
