Janie Lopez, age 69, of
Clovis, NM passed away, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Covenant Specialty Hospital, in Lubbock, TX due to illness. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at The Chapel of Angels, 1430 Thornton St.,
Clovis, NM from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm. Rosary will be recited by Rose Marez, Monday, June 5, 2023, at 6:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 108 N. Davis St.,
Clovis, NM. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 10:30 am, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Heriberto Mercado officiating. Burial to follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, 1601 E. Llano Estacado., Clovis.
Janie was a wonderful person who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her life partner Jim traveling around in their RV camping and enjoying the outdoors. Her hobbies included watching sports and playing Bingo.
She was born on September 23, 1953, in Morton, Texas to Anita and Alfredo Morales. She Married Jose Eloy Lopez SR. on April 28, 1972. They built a life together in Clovis, and raised 3 beautiful children together, Monica, Alfredo, and Jose Eloy Jr.
In 2008 Janie met Jim Casaus and his beautiful daughters and started a new life with new adventures. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Janie kept busy but would always make time for anybody that needed her.
She is survived by her life partner Jim Casaus, her children; Monica Lopez-Milks, Alfredo Lopez, and Jose Eloy Lopez Jr., Linda Aguilar (Kevin), Jamie Kutcha (Todd), and her grandchildren; Jose Samuel Lucero, Alfredo Lopez Jr., Angelo Lopez, and Zoey Aguilar, 16 great grandchildren, three sisters; Delia (Frank) Solis, Josie (Ray) Torres, Margaret (Chon) Morales, and one brother; Alex (David) Morales, her best friend; Tina Garcia, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Anita and Alfredo Morales, husband; Jose Eloy Lopez Sr., son-in-law; Bill Milks, granddaughters; Melissa Raquel Ponce and Isabella Lopez, her brothers; Rudy Cardenas, Arnold Morales, Ernest Morales, and Adolfo Morales.
