Nuckols, and died on the evening of October 4, 2021, in Lubbock, TX.  He grew up in Elida, and graduated from Elida High School in 1958.  While in school, he played basketball, and was chosen to play on the team for the South in the North South Allstar game as a senior.  He went on to study at E. N. M. On June 3, 1961, in Clovis, he was married to Kay Lee.  They raised cattle and race horses.  Jim Bob loved his cattle and ranching, as well as his horses and horse racing.
He is survived by Kay, his wife of more than 60 years of their home; his son and daughter-in-law, Joel Dillard and Traci Nuckols of Elida; a grandson, Trevor (Christine) Nuckols; a great-granddaughter, Chandler Nuckols; and a brother, Travis (JoAnn) Nuckols of Clovis.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Maxine Painter.
