Karen Asimos Obituary
With profound sadness and enduring love, the family of Karen Campbell Asimos announces her peaceful passing at home in Denver, Colorado on October 23, 2025.
Born in Clovis, New Mexico, on April 17, 1936 Karen was a proud graduate of Clovis High School (1954) and Texas Tech University (1958) where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Throughout her life she kept in touch with her dear Clovis and Tech friends spending time with them annually.
The daughter of Imogene and Dale Campbell and sister of Gary Campbell, Karen was proud of her family's Eastern New Mexico legacy and their ownership of the former Campbell Dairy and Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
Karen had a true "servant's heart," which was evidenced by her chosen vocations of social work and nursing. Married at St. James Episcopal Church in Clovis, she later was an active member of St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in Lakewood, CO. She dedicated countless hours volunteering for various church, school, sports team, and non-profit organizations.
Karen was also a talented seamstress and crafter and was famous for the beautiful Christmas decorations and ornaments she made. She loved to travel and was fortunate to spend many winter months in Puerto Vallarta Mexico.
Karen is survived by her four loving children and their spouses: Adrienne Asimos of Englewood CO, Giff and Jeanette Gallegos-Asimos of San Diego, CA, Tom and Zoe Kugeares-Asimos of McLean, VA, and Nick and Maria Asimos of Myrtle Beach, SC. Ten beloved grandchildren and their spouses: Kaity and Andrew Asimos-Sarine, Brad and Mari Ramos-Asimos, Emma and Sterling Asimos-Jackson, Aubrey and Stephen Asimos-Bass, Vivian and Tom Asimos-Wicks, Santina Gallegos-Asimos, Jenna Gallegos-Asimos, Sam Kugeares-Asimos, Sal Kugeares-Asimos, and Marika Kugeares-Asimos; and five adored great-grandchildren, Michael, Demetria, Anastasia, and Hadrian Asimos-Jackson and Alden Asimos-Bass. She was the niece of the late Vivian and Gerald Gunnels.
A service to celebrate Karen's life will be held in Lakewood, CO on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in celebration of her 90th birthday. Details to be announced by the family later.
