Lyle Hutchins Obituary

Lyle Wayne Hutchins, 66, went to be with the Lord Monday morning, January 21, 2019, in the comfort of his home. He was born on October 1, 1952, in Clovis, NM to Luther Arnold & Bessie Olene Shope Hutchins. He graduated from Grady High School in 1970 and earned his Bachelor's of Science in Agricultural Economics at NMSU in 1974. While in college at NMSU he met his loving wife Rita Helene Vaughan Hutchins. They married on May 20, 1972. On December 5, 2018, Lyle made the best decision of his life and came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He followed this in baptism on January 6, 2019.
Lyle and Rita moved to Broadview, NM to help his dad run the family farm. This is where they made their home and raised their family. Lyle also spent a brief time working at the Agriculture and Soil Conservation Service. He was a dedicated, passionate farmer and rancher in Curry County. He was well known for his outstanding sorghum production and raised many quality cattle and sheep over the years.
Lyle was a member of the NMSU Livestock Judging Team. He served on the New Mexico Farm Credit Association Board, Grady School Board, and the Curry County Fair Board. He also served as the Broadview Volunteer Fire Department Chief.
One of Lyle's greatest joys was watching his children and grandchildren compete in their various activities. From the basketball court, the show ring at the fair to dance and piano recitals Lyle was either in the stands encouraging them or in the barn helping get animals ready and giving advice. He always challenged each to strive for their best.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife; Rita Hutchins, his children; Jeanne (Patrick) Kircher, Karla (Greg) Smith, Galen (Kandy) Hutchins, his grandchildren; Savannah, Kaitlyn, Cole and Carson Kircher, Lauren and Alyssa Smith, Garrett Rutherford and Kolbyn Hutchins, siblings; Darlene (Storm) Gerhart, Kim (Dessie) Hutchins, Linda Barron, Carolyn (Steve) Reed, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and beloved friends. He is preceded in death by his father; Luther Arnold Hutchins, mother; Bessie Olene Hutchins, niece; Jodi Schaffner and nephew; Skye Hutchins.
A service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 25, 2019, at Grady Baptist Church, 210 W. Franklin Street, Grady, NM, with Pastor Greg Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Grady Cemetery.

Rita and all of your sweet family,
I am so sorry to hear this. We thought so much of Lyle. He was so active with the community, youth activities and was very dedicated to his family.
We enjoyed his friendship for many years. May God hold each of you close and walk with you during the difficult days ahead. We are sending many prayers and hugs to you, your family and all of Lyle's family.
