Robert Blaney Obituary
SALISBURY - Mr. Robert Winfield Blaney, 67, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at his residence after a short battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 31, 1946, in Panama Canal Zone, he was the son of the late Robert Lloyd Blaney and Beatrice June Buddeke.
Mr. Blaney was educated in Panama Canal Zone and attended vocational school at Central Piedmont Community College. He was the owner and operator of Blaney's Forklift Service for 37 years.
He enjoyed fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Preceding him in death were a son, Robert Butch Blaney; and brother John Blaney.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Karen Hershey Blaney; sons William "Billy" (Karen) Blaney and Joseph "Jay" (Kimberly) Blaney; daughter Christy (Alan) Merrell; sister Jenny Prevots; stepdaughter Christina (Stan) McCammon; stepson Troy Sellers; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service for Mr. Blaney will be held at a later date.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Humane Society of Rowan County, P.O. Box 295, Salisbury, NC 28145.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Blaney
from his working on forklifts. He was a person I looked up to, the way he conducted his business, with honesty and integrity. I will miss those times. May the Lord bless him and keep him forever in His embrace. Goodby Mr. Blaney and may God bless you.
