Robert Gibbons Obituary

Robert Allen "Bob" Gibbons 74, of Conchas Dam, NM died Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at his home. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, April 3, 2017, at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Bob was born April 20, 1942, in Springfield, IL to Gillam Gibbons and Daisy Morris Gibbons. He married Chieri Doi March 3, 1963. Bob worked as a Pacific International Express truck driver. He joined the United States Air Force and served as an Air Policeman and was promoted to Airman Third Class (Senior Airmen) before he separated.
Bob was a very loving and kind person. His Family meant the world to him. If you knew him you would know how important his family was, what each person was doing and what they accomplished. He was dedicated to helping others and worked hard to make things better than he found them. Bob was involved with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, He was the Conchas Dam water board president and the Commander for the American Legion, post 19. Bob never new a stranger and always remembered their name. When he entered the room he would attract a crowd. He had jokes and would tease everyone, no one was safe.
Survivors include: his wife; Chieri Gibbons of the home, son; Robert Allen (Denise) Gibbons II of Albuquerque, NM, daughter; Cari (Randy) Riley of Macintosh, NM, two sisters; Sally Ellis of Kansas, and Paula Gibbons of Kentucky, a brother; Carl (Becky) Gibbons of Rochester, IL, five grandchildren; Kaycee Riley of Estancia, NM, Chealsea Riley of Estancia, NM, Portia Gibbons of Clovis, NM, Kendra Gibbons of Albuquerque, NM, and Aiden Gibbons of Albuquerque, NM, and six great-grandchildren; Devon Mendez of Estancia, NM, Madelynn Mendez of Estancia, NM, Kaydence Killebrew of Estancia, NM, Lexi Chavez of Estancia, NM, Bentley Gibbons-Larson of Clovis, NM and Holden Gibbons-Larson of Clovis, NM.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Gillam and Daisy, and two brothers; Jack Gibbons and Bill Gibbons.
