Stephen Hays Obituary
Visitation will be held Thursday December 10, 2015, from 8:00AM - 5:00PM at Muffley Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday December 11, 2015, at 9:00AM at Muffley Funeral Home Chapel, 1430 Thornton St., Clovis, NM with Pastor Furgus Tunnell Officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00PM at Logan Cemetery, Logan, NM. Mikel Hays, Johnny Mulhair, Shawn Hays, Berry Moore, Steven Wright, Scott Akers, and Kyle Glen will serve as pallbearers.
Stephen was born August 26, 1952, to A.C and Edna Ray (Glen) Hays in Clovis, NM. He married Bambi Pond on June 6th, 1986, in Lubbock, TX. Stephen taught Tech Lab at Yucca Jr High school for eight years. He enjoyed rock climbing, hunting, traveling, and scuba diving.
Survivors include his wife, Bambi of the home; one brother, Shawn (Leslie) Hays of Clovis, NM; three sisters, Becky (Barry) Moore of Lubbock, TX, Jill (Johnny) Mulhair of Clovis, NM, Susie (Benny) Slaughter of Santa Fe, NM; and eight nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, A.C Hays; mother, Edan Ray Hays Wagner; and step-father, Lloyd Wagner.

Steve was one of those nice guys. We weren't that close in High School, but he reached out and we became friends, over the internet, about 10 years ago. He always had time for a friend. He loved his Jesus!
May you rest, beside Jesus, peacefully Steve.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing, Bambi. I know you were his love.

Dear Bambi and Hays family,
My deepest condolences on the passing of your husband, brother and uncle. I am deeply saddened by this. Steve was a very good friend of mine. More than a friend, a brother. He impacted my life for the better in many ways. I will miss him very much. He will always be with me as I call to mind all the things he taught me and the many good times we shared.
I put my trust in the promise of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that one day I'll see him again in our great Creators eternal kingdom.
