Steve Meiwes Obituary
A Rosary is scheduled for 7:30 pm, Sunday, March 15, 2015, at St. Anthonys Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial Service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Monday, March 16, 2015, at St. Anthonys Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Tony Neusch, Parish Priest, as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Vega. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street.
Steve was born November 18, 1936, in Okarche, Oklahoma, to Steve and Margaret (Rausch) Meiwes. He met his bride to be, and fell in love with his soul mate and best friend, Patricia Ann (Dixon) Meiwes. They married on April 24, 1956, in Edmond, Oklahoma and moved to Deaf Smith County in 1956 from Minco, Oklahoma. Steve loved his Lord, his family and especially his grand and great grandchildren with all his heart. He liked farming, raising his cattle, traveling, reading his farming magazines, watching Fox News The Cattle Market and RFD TV Molly B. Polka on TV. He supported his family and grandchildren in lifes adventures. Steve loved to go dancing and was good at it in his own way.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter, Cathy; 1 granddaughter, Yvonne; 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia of the home; 2 daughters, Jo Ann Harris and Paul of Oklahoma City, OK, Cyndee Hester and Vince of Fritch, TX; 6 sons, Steve Meiwes of Earth, Chris Meiwes and Marilee of Earth, Ben Meiwes of Lubbock, Mike Meiwes and Donna of Hereford, Dan Meiwes and Lorrie of Hereford, Donnie Meiwes and Audra of Clovis, New Mexico; 2 sisters, Margaret Eddie and Bob of SD, Bernita Bernstein of KS; 27 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials to the St. Anthonys School Endowment Fund, 114 Sunset, Hereford, Texas 79045.
