Funeral services for James Thomas Pruitt, 82, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at Watts Holiness Church in Sallisaw.
Burial followed at Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Pruitt was born on Nov. 22, 1940, in Vian to Carrie Isabella (Stubbs) Pruitt and William Harrison Pruitt. He passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, in Vian.
He was married to Margaret F. Stites on Nov. 25, 1965, in Sallisaw. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 2022.
He was a retired supervisor from Whirlpool and retired from the maintenance department at Carl Albert State College. He was a member of Watts Holiness Church.
Survivors are one daughter, Paige Pruitt of Broken Arrow; two sons, Sean Pruitt of Sallisaw and Aaron Pruitt and wife Belinda of Weyers Cave, Va.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Artie Pruitt of Gans; and several other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jerry Pruitt; and two sisters, Dorothy Rowe and Virgie Wiles.
Pallbearers were Hazer Pruitt, Johnathon Mattingly, Chad Allen, Steve Gruber, Zacary Gruber, Sid Gruber, Craig Edgemon, Roger Edgemon and David Rogers.
