Joyce Lean Keefner

1932 - 2025

Joyce Lean Keefner was born on July 3, 1932, in Binger, Okla., and passed this life on Oct. 31, 2025. She was born to Claude and Lillian Lovell Teague. Joyce's most cherished memories were of growing up on Brushy Mountain with her 11 siblings and their well-told stories like walking a mile to a one-room schoolhouse, uphill, in the snow and ice.
She loved the great outdoors, building and traveling. She was devoted and strong-spirited - qualities that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Preceding her in death are her parents, Claude and Lillian Teague; brothers, Dub Teague, Jay Teague and Ronald Teague; also, her sisters, Irene Vermillion, Virginia Beck, Lorene Cummins, and Bonnie Tadlock and Jackie Lindsey.
Joyce leaves behind her six children and their spouses, Susan Keefner of Sallisaw, Rebecca Tolle and Larry Tolle of Minnesota, Craig Keefner and Carolynn of Colorado, Carol Keefner of Vian, Okla., Edward Keefner III and Shelly of Tulsa, Okla. and Kevin Keefner and Bobbie of Roland, Okla.; 14 cherished grandchildren; and nine precious great-grandchildren.
Joyce also leaves behind two brothers, Sonny and Mike Teague and sister-in-law, Jeanie Teague; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
The visitation for Joyce was Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Okla.
